Purim

March 2 - 3, 2026

The festival of Purim commemorates the Divinely orchestrated salvation of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire from Haman’s plot “to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day.” It is celebrated with Megillah readings, gifts of food, charity, feasting, and merriment.

to the Poor

With Purim just around the corner, we take this opportunity to remind you that one of the main observances of this festive holiday, dating back to the very first Purim, is that of “Matonot L’evyonim”extending alms to the needy among us.

Dear Friends,

With Purim approaching, we are reminded that one of the most beautiful mitzvot of this joyous holiday, dating back to the very first Purim, is Matanot La’Evyonim — sharing with those in need so that everyone can celebrate with dignity and joy.

No Jewish celebration feels complete unless we ensure that others in our community are able to rejoice as well. Each year, Chabad of the Conejo serves as our community’s trusted conduit for this sacred mitzvah, discreetly assisting individuals and families, locally and abroad in Israel, who are facing financial hardship.

We would be deeply grateful if you would CLICK HERE to fulfill your Matanot La’Evyonim mitzvah and help bring warmth, relief, and happiness to others this Purim.

We also warmly invite you and your family to join us for our Annual Purim Carnival on Tuesday, March 3 at 4:00 PM — a wonderful community celebration for all ages.

Thank you for your kindness and partnership in caring for our community. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and uplifting Purim together with all of Israel.

Warm regards,

Rabbi Moshe D. Bryski

Rabbi Yisroel Levine

Rabbi Leibel Kahanov

P.S. Additional Purim observances include hearing the Megillah on Purim Eve and Day (March 2–3), sending Shalach Manot to friends, and participating in a festive Purim meal. For full details about Purim services and celebrations, please visit chabadconejo.com/purim.
