Dear Friend,
If ever there was a year we need to celebrate the lights of Chanukah – which represent Jewish pride and resolve, hope and solidarity – this is that year!
With the Jewish People at war with evil and sadistic enemies on seven fronts, we need to send a clear and strong message that we are not cowered or intimidated by the forces of darkness and hate. Rather, we stand tall for our values and ideals, and we stand firmly with our brothers and sisters in Israel!
Indeed, this will be a common theme as Chabad rolls out a full schedule of Menorah lightings and public celebrations throughout the nights of Chanukah across the Conejo Valley and Ventura County. Among those events will be our Family Chanukah Festival on Tuesday, December 26, at the Shoppes Center in Westlake Village and a Chanukah Wonderland on Monday, December 30 at the Agoura Hills Event Center. For a listing of over a dozen local Chanukah programs and festivals, please visit chabadconejo.com/
During my trips to Israel last year, I visited with many of those most directly and adversely affected by the horrors of October 7, as well as with our modern-day Maccabees of the IDF. Seeing how much the friendship and support I brought with me from our Conejo Valley community meant to them, I resolved to further strengthen those bonds of love and support – which is what we’ve been doing ever since. Over the course of the upcoming holiday, thousands of men, women and children in our part of the world will look up and see lights that bespeak the miracles of Jewish survival. Most of all, they will join together in proclaiming: “Am Yisroel Chai” – always and forever!
All of these events will be hosted and sponsored by Chabad of the Conejo – made possible through the support of conscientious friends like you. We appeal to you to once again be a valued partner in Chabad’s “Let There Be Light” project by extending your generous Chanukah Gelt toward this undertaking. Any amount would be of great help!
In merit of your commitment to Jewish pride and solidarity, may you and yours be blessed with a very joyous, festive and peaceful Chanukah – among all of Israel!
Gratefully Yours,
Rabbi Moshe Bryski Rabbi
Yisroel Levine
