Israel – The Dream, The Pain & The Hope
‘The Mother of Israel’ Miriam Peretz
An evening with one of the most popular and beloved figures in all of Israel, Miriam Peretz. After losing two of her sons in battles defending Israel, and her husband from a broken heart, Miriam became a national symbol of strength, courage and faith for all segments of Israeli society.
Miriam immigrated to Israel from Morocco in 1964. She was a high school principal for twenty-three years and is currently a supervisor for the ministry of education. After losing her two sons and her husband, Miriam began assisting bereaved families and wounded soldiers and became a national hero. Since then she became known as the “ima shel kol hayeladim—a mother of all the boys”, as the soldiers call her, voluntarily lecturing to teenagers, soldiers, and the public around the world to share her life story of faith, hope, love, and overcoming grief and tragedy.
